Ciaran Baxendale

Paralegal

Ciaran is a paralegal in the sport team with a background spanning litigation, corporate and commercial work and years of hands-on experience in professional football and community development.

“I came to law from the football industry, and that background shapes the way I work. Designing community programmes alongside high-profile athletes, advising on equality and inclusion across grassroots football, and mentoring young people through a national education charity taught me how to build trust, communicate clearly and deliver under pressure. Those instincts carry into everything I do as a legal professional.

My legal experience spans sport-related dispute resolution, including CAS appeals and multi-club ownership disputes, as well as commercial and corporate casework. I take a straightforward, results-driven approach – I listen carefully, cut through complexity and focus on what actually matters for the client.

Fluent in five languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian and Catalan) with advanced Portuguese, I’m well-suited to cross-border work and the  relationship-driven practice that international clients expect. I enjoy the pace and unpredictability of the sport sector, and finding creative, practical solutions to the challenges it throws up is the most rewarding part of what I do.”
