Ofcom has published revised proposals related to quality of service standards on Openreach for repairs and installations between April 2021 and March 2026. This is a further consultation to Ofcom’s proposals to support competition and investment in faster fibre networks, while protecting customers.
In January 2020, Ofcom proposed maintaining existing standards for Openreach’s repairs and installations, to ensure it provides the quality of service customers need. Taking into account responses to its January consultation, and changes to fault reporting rates since January, Ofcom has revised some of these proposals. Ofcom says that it recognises the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on Openreach, so propose to review its quality of service standards during 2021-22.
The consultation closes on 4 December. Ofcom intends to publish its final decisions before April 2021 as part of its wholesale fixed telecoms market review statement. To access the consultation, click here.
